2020 has come to an end, and 2021 brings us a new-and hopefully better-year. To start things off, here’s a list of some of the newest movies to look forward to watching later in 2021. 

In the Heights

Lin Manuel Miranda, the well-known creator of Hamilton, has done it again and created an incredible soundtrack for a new movie. In the Heights will debut in theaters and HBO Max. After the release date being pushed back because of COVID-19, the new release will happen on June 18th of 2021. The film will explore three days in the NYC neighborhood called Washington Heights, filled with many Dominican-American citizens. Starring Anthony Ramos, this movie is one you won’t want to miss. 

Black Widow

Following Natasha Romanoff, Marvel will debut its movie about Black Widow on May 7th, 2021. This will be the first movie strictly dedicated to the character (played by Scarlett Johansson). 

Death on the Nile

Hercule Poirot is back, solving yet another murder. Formerly appearing in Murder on the Orient Express on a train, now he’s on a ship and must solve the murder of a young hieress before it’s too late. This movie is based on the book written by Agatha Christie. The film will be released September of 2021. 

Sequels Section: 

Many other movies that will be released in 2021 are sequels or part of a franchise. Some of these titles include: Top Gun: Maverick, A Quiet Place Part II, Venom 2, Sing 2, Peter Rabbit 2, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Mission Impossible 7, Sherlock Holmes 3, Spider Man 3, Fast and Furious 9, Hotel Transylvania 4.
